Indiana football answered the question everyone had been asking: Are the Hoosiers for real? On Saturday night, in front of a sold-out Memorial Stadium and a primetime NBC audience, the answer was loud, clear and merciless. The No. 19 Hoosiers dismantled No. 9 Illinois 63-10 in their Big Ten opener, delivering a performance that was equal parts statement and spectacle. Indiana didn’t just beat Illinois. It humiliated a top-10 opponent in every phase, outgaining the Illini 579-161 and holding them to two total rushing yards. By night’s end, the Hoosiers had produced the most points ever by a Big Ten team against an AP top-10 foe. Here are my final thoughts from a historic night in Bloomington.
