Hoosiers Enter Bye Week at 11–0: Championship Push Takes Center Stage

By Shannon Griffith, Lead Football Analyst for TheHoosier.com
Fresh off a decisive 31-7 Senior Day win over Wisconsin, the No. 2–ranked Indiana Hoosiers move into the bye week with an undefeated 11–0 record and the national spotlight directly on Bloomington. With two weeks remaining before the regular-season finale at Purdue, Indiana’s championship pursuit is officially in full focus.
Tonight on Hoosier Tailgate, Coach Griff breaks down everything fans need to know about where this team stands, what lies ahead, and how Indiana continues to defy expectations deep into November.
Wisconsin Recap: Statement Win on Senior Day
Indiana delivered a second half explosion scoring 24 unanswered points, handling the Badgers on both sides of the ball. Fernando Mendoza’s efficiency, the ground game’s steady production, and a disciplined defensive effort set the tone early and never let up. The Hoosiers controlled situational football, limited Wisconsin’s explosives, and executed at a championship level from start to finish.
Bye-Week Storylines: Health, Prep, and Pressure
The bye week arrives at the perfect time. Indiana will focus on rest and recovery, especially along the offensive line and in the secondary. Expect the staff to use this week for heavy self-scouting — particularly in the run game, where creativity and added wrinkles may be needed heading into rivalry week and the Big Ten Championship.

Recruiting Momentum: DeMatha WR Lavar Keys Flips to IU
Indiana landed a major recruiting victory over the weekend with the commitment of Lavar Keys, a dynamic wide receiver and return specialist from DeMatha Catholic (MD), who flipped from Penn State.
