Indiana Basketball offers 2026 4-star guard Deron Rippey Jr.

Indiana basketball has offered a scholarship to 2026 four-star guard Deron Rippey Jr.
Rippey Jr.’s father, Deron Rippey Sr., announced the offer on social media Saturday afternoon.
Rippey Jr., a 6-foot-2 point guard from Brooklyn, New York, plays high school basketball for Blair Academy in New Jersey. He is ranked as the No. 18 overall player in the 2026 class and the No. 4 overall point guard, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Rippey Jr participated in the NBPA Top 100 camp and was named a top performer by On3 National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw.
Rippey was injured in his fourth game of the camp but averaged 21.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.0 steals per game during his first three games while shooting 51.1% from the field.
He was named to the NBPA Top 100 camp first team for his play.
“There is an extra twitch that Deron Rippey has that his peers simply do not have. Rippey has a strong core and plays on balance as he puts two feet into the paint,” Jamie Shaw said about Rippey Jr. “What was most impressive was the pace he played with. While being the most athletic guard on most floors, he was not rushed.”

“He has quick hands and feet on defense, pressuring the ball 94-feet. He finished multiple highlight reel-type plays, above the rim, and moves the ball well as he consistently collapsed the defense,” Shaw said. “He will need to continue working through his jump shot, but his ability to read and react with his burst and pace was impressive.”
Rippey Jr. has taken visits to Louisville and Rutgers while holding offers from Kentucky, Alabama, Villanova, and several others in addition to Indiana.
