Indiana basketball has extended another offer in the 2027 class with this one coming to one of the top rising guards in the 2027 class, LJ Smith.

LJ Smith is listed a 6-foot-4 combo guard out of Lincolnton High School in North Carolina. He runs with Team Thad on Nike EYBL circuit. He rated at the No. 47 prospect in the On3 Class of 2027 Rankings.

Playing up with Team Thad 17u on the EYBL Circuit this AAU season, Smith has averaged 13.8 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. He shots 44.4 percent (24-of-54) from three, as well.

Smith was invited to the NBPA Top 100 Camp recently and On3’s National Basketball Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw was able to get eyes on him.

“LJ Smith played a compact game this week that led to production,” Shaw said. “He averaged 11.0 points and shot 37.5 percent from three. Continuing to develop his on ball reads will take his game to the next level, but Smith continues to prove to be an offensive weapon.”

“…showed his shooting touch on day two. A noted scorer, he played predominantly off ball and capitalized on the opportunities presented. He has a good frame and a smooth shooting touch.”

Along with Indiana basketball, he holds offers from schools such as Tennessee, Kansas, Memphis, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Georgia, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Clemson, West Virginia and others.
