#2 Indiana with 56-6 Beatdown of UCLA

The Hoosier Tailgate broke down another massive statement win on Saturday as the #2 Indiana Hoosiers dismantled the UCLA Bruins, 56–6, in front of a jam-packed Memorial Stadium and National TV audience on Fox Big Noon Kickoff.
A National Statement
Indiana came into the matchup ranked second in the nation, and they played like it from the opening kickoff. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza was efficient and explosive, commanding the offense with confidence while spreading the ball to playmakers across the field. Running backs Roman Hemby and Kaelon Black once again provided balance, and the Hoosiers’ offensive line controlled the trenches against a UCLA defense that entered the game riding momentum from a three-game win streak.
The result was one of the most lopsided Big Ten victories since the Hoosiers beat #9 Illinois 63-10 back on Sept. 20. The Hoosiers handed UCLA its worst loss of the season and halting their midseason surge.
Defensive Domination
Defensively, Indiana left no room for hope. The Hoosiers’ front seven smothered the Bruins’ run game, while the secondary made sure UCLA never found rhythm through the air. From start to finish, Curt Cignetti’s defense looked locked in, holding the Bruins to just two field goals. Aiden Fisher set the tone with a 25 yd pick six and on first play from scrimmage the Hoosiers got one of their 3 sacks against Nico Iamaleava. For the game the Hoosiers Defense held UCLA to 88 yards rushing and 113 yard passing for the day.
