Indiana basketball has extended a scholarship offer to 2027 four-star point guard Dooney Johnson.

Johnson is the No. 11 point guard in the 2027 class and the No. 39 overall player in the Rivals Industry Rankings.

The 6-foot-6 guard plays for Milwaukee Juneau (Wis.) High School and for Team Herro on the Nike EYBL circuit. He averaged 12.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game this summer and put up 18.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists at Peach Jam this week.

Indiana coaches Darian DeVries and Kenny Johnson attended Peach Jam starting on Thursday, while Rod Clark joined them Friday and was there all Saturday with Kenny Johnson.

Indiana was quick to offer the talented guard after his standout performance at Peach Jam.

As a freshman for Milwaukee Juneau, Johnson averaged 25.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. On the other end of the court, he averaged 2.7 steals and 1.3 blocks a game.

He currently holds offers from Marquette, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Syracuse, and others.

Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw wrote this about Johnson at Peach Jam this week.

“The 6-foot-6 Johnson is a ball-in-hand guard, someone who initiates offense while putting pressure on the defense,” Shaw said. “Johnson plays with a great pace, not getting rushed and aggressively getting to his spots in the half-court. He uses his big body well to create leverage, absorbing contact with good balance.”
