Indiana basketball will welcome Kansas State to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Tuesday, November 25, marking a key non-conference matchup in the 2025-26 season.

The game, which had been rumored for a while, was initially reported Thursday by Rocco Miller and subsequently confirmed by TheHoosier.com.

Kansas State enters the season coming off a challenging 2024-25 campaign, finishing 16-17 overall and ranked No. 65 in the final KenPom ratings.

Head coach Jerome Tang, now entering his fourth year with the Wildcats, has guided the program through ups and downs — posting a 26-10 record in his debut season, followed by 19-15 the next year, and last season’s sub-.500 finish.

Despite recent struggles, Kansas State is projected to improve in 2025-26. Preseason rankings by Bart Torvik place the Wildcats at No. 47 nationally. A notable addition to their roster is Memphis All-American guard PJ Haggerty, who joined via the transfer portal earlier this offseason.

For Indiana, the matchup against Kansas State is the fifth confirmed non-conference opponent for head coach Darian DeVries’ first full slate.

The Hoosiers will also face high-profile teams including Marquette (Nov. 9 at the United Center in Chicago), Louisville (Dec. 6 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis) and Kentucky (Dec. 13 at Rupp Arena in Lexington). Games against Milwaukee and Chicago State are expected to round out the schedule as well, with the date for the Milwaukee game yet to be finalized.

Indiana holds a historical edge in the series with Kansas State, leading 19-12 overall. The two programs last faced off in the 1998 Maui Invitational on November 23, 1998, where Indiana narrowly defeated the Wildcats 71-70. The upcoming game will mark the 32nd meeting between the teams, and their first in over a quarter-century.

Notably, Kansas State’s lone victory over a DeVries-coached team came last season when the Wildcats defeated West Virginia, DeVries’ former program, 73-60.

The Nov. 25 contest at Assembly Hall promises to be an early-season test for both programs as they seek to build momentum heading into Big Ten and Big 12 conference play.
