Indiana wing Luke Goode has waiver for fifth year denied by NCAA

Indiana senior wing Luke Goode has had his waiver denied by the NCAA, sources confirm to TheHoosier.com.
Zach Osterman of the IndyStar had the initial report.
Goode was vying for a 5th year of eligibility following his lone season at Indiana. The season in question was the 2022-23 year when Goode played just 10 games. According to the NCAA, the requirements for a medical-hardship waiver says that a player can’t participate in more than 30 percent of the number of games and can’t appear after the midpoint of their season. His 10 game were in the back half of the year and he appeared in 30.3 percent of games during that season.
“4 years later. Thank you God for the journey through highs and lows,” Goode posted on Instagram. “Can’t wait for what’s next! Isaiah 41:10.”
Before transferring to Indiana, Goode spent his first three seasons playing for Illinois. During his three years at Illinois, Goode played in 76 games and averaged 4.1 points and shot 38.8 percent from three.
In his lone season with Indiana he put up a career season. He averaged 9.1 points a game and shot 39.2 percent from three. He started 16 of his 32 games played.

“I’d do anything I can to play in the candy stripes again, man,” Luke Goode said after Indiana’s final game. “Everybody knows my story, but it’s more than special to be able to come represent this jersey. So if I’m fortunate enough to get that year, I’d love nothing more than to represent this university once again. So hopefully people are working as hard as they can to get me another year. So we’ll be looking at that for sure.”
