Indiana’s homecoming date with Michigan State now has a time and a channel — and fans will need a subscription to watch it.

The Big Ten announced Monday that the Oct. 18 matchup between the Hoosiers and Spartans at Memorial Stadium will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET and stream exclusively on Peacock. The game marks Indiana’s second appearance on the platform this season as part of the conference’s media rights deal with NBC, Fox and CBS.

The battle for the Old Brass Spittoon arrives amid contrasting storylines for the two programs. Indiana, ranked No. 7 in the latest AP Poll, is riding a wave of early-season success under second-year head coach Curt Cignetti. The Hoosiers travel to No. 3 Oregon this weekend in a nationally ranked showdown before returning home for the homecoming tilt.

Michigan State, meanwhile, is still searching for stability under second-year coach Jonathan Smith. The Spartans host UCLA this weekend as they look for their first Big Ten victory of 2025.

Indiana throttled Michigan State 47-10 last season in East Lansing, erasing an early 10-0 deficit with 47 unanswered points. It was the Hoosiers’ first win over the Spartans since 2020, but Indiana hasn’t beaten Michigan State in consecutive years since the late 1960s. The Spartans still own a commanding 50-19-2 edge in the all-time series.

Through five weeks, ESPN’s Football Power Index ranks Indiana as the nation’s fourth-best team overall, powered by a top-20 offense and a defense sitting at No. 4 nationally. Michigan State enters at No. 60 in the FPI, with balanced but unspectacular marks across offense, defense and special teams.

Fans planning to stream the Oct. 18 matchup will need a Peacock Premium or Premium Plus subscription. Premium (with ads) costs $10.99 per month or $109.99 annually, while Premium Plus (ad-free) is $16.99 per month or $169.99 annually.

Indiana and Michigan State have met every year since 2011. This year’s edition promises more than just tradition — it’s a measuring stick for a surging Hoosier squad and a chance for the Spartans to reclaim a rivalry trophy that slipped away in emphatic fashion last fall.
