Full live blog with updated coverage throughout the week 1 matchup of Indiana football hosting Old Dominion in Bloomington.

Week one of the 2025 season is finally here, and No. 20 Indiana Football opens the season with Old Dominion coming to Merchants Bank Field at Memorial Stadium.

The Curt Cignetti-led Hoosiers are coming off the best season in program history and looking to make another run to the College Football Playoff.

Kickoff is set for 2:30 PM ET, and the game will be aired on FS1.

Indiana is a 23.5-point favorite over Old Dominion with an over/under of 53.5 points per BetMGM.

On the first play from scrimmage ODU QB Colton Joseph takes it 75 yards to the house on a zone read. The Indiana defense collapsed on the running back and Joseph put the burners on to open the game.

Indiana gets stopped on the 4th and goal as Mendoza’s pass to Riley Nowakowski is incomplete. It was an 11 play 69 yard drive highlighted by a 36 yard run by Kaelon Black but ODU will take over at their own one yard line.

After an Indiana stop the Hoosiers were marching down the field but Lee Beebe Jr. fumbles on his first touch of the game and Old Dominion recovers at their own 20. Roman Hemby had a 30 yard rush on the drive.

Two consecutive drives of 60+ yards and zero points scored for Indiana.

Indiana defensive back Amare Ferrell intercepts Colton Joseph’s pass and returns 31 yards to the ODU 25 but a personal foul penalty knocks out the return and Indiana takes over at their own 45.

After a shock on the first play from scrimmage, the Hoosier defense has really settled in.

After the interception the Hoosiers drive down inside the five but cannot punch it in. Nico Radicic’s 22 yard field goal attempt is good as the Hoosiers take the lead after the 8 play 51 yard drive.

Colton Joseph is hit as he throws inside his own end zone and his pass is over thrown and intercepted by Louis Moore. An Old Dominion penalty on the return has the Hoosiers taking over at the ODU 5 yard line.

Indiana capitalizes off of the turnover as Mendoza runs it in from five yards out on on a read option. The read option with Mendoza is a new wrinkle to the offense as OC Mike Shanahan and Cignetti look to get the most out of Mendoza’s running ability. Radicic’s extra point is good and the Hoosiers extend their lead.

On the first drive of the half Indiana goes 75 yards on 8 plays, capped off by a Kaelon Black rushing touchdown. Mendoza connected with Omar Cooper Jr. on a deep ball over the middle for 46 yards on 3rd down to keep the drive alive. The Hoosiers have scored 24 straight points since ODU’s opening touchdown.

Indiana’s run game is dominating with the Hoosiers rushing for over 240 yards already but once again they cannot score a TD on the goal to go situation. Radicic’s field goal attempt from 25 yards is good. The red zone offense has really held Indiana back today.

Fernando Mendoza’s pass attempt to Elijah Sarratt is incomplete on 4th down. Sarratt looked around for a flag as there was plenty of contact on the play but no flag and ODU takes over at their own 8. Another red zone trip without a touchdown for the Hoosiers.
