Indiana baseball’s reputation for developing elite talent and producing nationally recognized players was on full display over the last handful of weeks, as multiple Hoosiers earned All-America honors following the 2025 campaign.

Junior outfielder Devin Taylor was named a unanimous All-American, redshirt sophomore Korbyn Dickerson earned a Third Team nod, and freshman first baseman Jake Hanley and freshman shortstop Cooper Malamazian were also named a Freshman All-American.

Taylor Named Unanimous All-American, Cements Hoosier Legacy

With his selection to D1 Baseball’s Second Team, Taylor has officially become just the third unanimous All-American in Indiana baseball history.

The Cincinnati native joins Kyle Schwarber (2014) and Dustin DeMuth (2014) in the program’s elite company, having earned First or Second Team honors from all four major outlets: Perfect Game, NCBWA, D1Baseball, and Baseball America.

Taylor capped a dominant junior season by hitting .374 with 80 hits, 63 runs scored, 18 home runs, and 66 RBIs. He led Indiana in multi-hit games (25) and multi-RBI performances (22), and homered in each of the final four games of his collegiate career. In left field, Taylor continued to flash consistency, finishing with a .981 fielding percentage and going errorless over his final 39 appearances.

The ABCA/Rawlings All-America selection, announced in Omaha by a panel of eight national coaches, marked Taylor’s second straight year receiving ABCA recognition. He became the first Hoosier since Schwarber to repeat as an ABCA All-American.

Taylor concludes his IU career as the program’s all-time home run leader (54) and ranks among the top 10 in runs scored (191), walks (125), and slugging percentage (.672). Over three years, he helped lead Indiana to 108 victories, three Big Ten Tournament appearances, and two NCAA Tournament berths. Now projected as a top-40 pick in next month’s MLB Draft, Taylor is poised to become the highest IU selection since Schwarber went No. 4 overall in 2014.

Taylor’s 2025 postseason honors include:

  • First Team All-Big Ten (OF)
  • Big Ten All-Tournament Team (OF)
  • ABCA/Rawlings Midwest First Team All-Region
  • Perfect Game First Team All-American
  • NCBWA Second Team All-American
  • ABCA Second Team All-American
  • Baseball America First Team All-American
  • D1Baseball Second Team All-American

Dickerson Earns First Career All-American Honor

Redshirt sophomore Korbyn Dickerson joined Taylor on Baseball America’s All-America list, earning Third Team honors — his first national selection. The Louisville transfer delivered a breakout season, hitting 19 home runs and leading Indiana with 77 RBIs. He was also one of the Big Ten’s most reliable defenders, finishing with a .985 fielding percentage in center field.

Dickerson’s 2025 honors include:

  • First Team All-Big Ten (OF)
  • Big Ten All-Defensive Team (OF)
  • ABCA/Rawlings Midwest First Team All-Region
  • Baseball America Third Team All-American

Hanley, Malamazian Highlight Freshman Success

Freshman first baseman Jake Hanley has continued to make history for the Hoosiers. On Tuesday (July 1), Hanley became the first unanimous Freshman All-American in Indiana baseball history — honored by all four major outlets after a dominant rookie campaign in Bloomington.

Hanley started all 56 games at first base in 2025 and became a fixture in the heart of the lineup. He batted .333 — second on the team — and totaled 73 hits, 48 runs scored, 14 home runs, and 52 RBIs. He helped anchor a core group of true freshmen, including Cooper Malamazian, Hogan Denny, and Will Moore, all of whom recorded at least 40 hits on the season.

Defensively, Hanley was equally impactful. He did not commit an error in over 400 chances at first base and was named a national finalist for the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove award.

Hanley becomes just the second player in program history — along with Josh Pyne — to earn Freshman All-America honors from four outlets in the same year, but the first to be honored by all four major outlets.

Hanley’s 2025 Postseason Honors:

  • Big Ten Freshman of the Year
  • Second Team All-Big Ten (At-Large)
  • Big Ten All-Freshman Team (1B)
  • ABCA/Rawlings Midwest Second Team All-Region
  • Perfect Game First Team Freshman All-American
  • NCBWA First Team Freshman All-American
  • D1 Baseball First Team Freshman All-American
  • Baseball America Second Team Freshman All-American
  • ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove National Finalist (1B)

Joining Hanley is shortstop Cooper Malamazian, who earned a Second Team Freshman All-America nod from Baseball America. The Illinois native broke into the lineup in March and hit .320 across 55 games, tallying 40 RBIs and delivering timely home runs in comeback victories over Ohio State and Maryland.

Under head coach Jeff Mercer, Indiana has now produced 11 Freshman All-Americans since 2019 — the most in the Big Ten over that span — and has had multiple honorees in three of the last four seasons.
