Indiana and Louisville will tip off at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 6, in a neutral-site game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, officials announced Thursday.

The game will be televised nationally on CBS as part of the CareSource Invitational Indianapolis – Supporting Mental Health.

The matchup is part of a busy weekend of sports in Indianapolis. Later that evening, the city will host the Big Ten football championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

“We are excited to have Louisville on the schedule,” head coach Darian DeVries said in a statement Thursday. “They are a very talented and well-coached team that plays hard every night. This game will provide a real test for us early in the season. There will be an amazing atmosphere in Indy for this great rivalry.”

Indiana holds a 12-10 advantage in the all-time series against Louisville. The teams have split their eight meetings on neutral courts. The most recent matchup came in the 2024 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, where Louisville defeated Indiana 89-61. The Hoosiers won the prior meeting at the 2023 Empire Classic.

The game is one of several high-profile non-conference contests for Indiana in its first season under DeVries, who replaced Mike Woodson after the Hoosiers missed the NCAA Tournament for a second straight year. Indiana finished 19-13 last season. The Hoosiers are also scheduled to face Marquette on Nov. 9 in Chicago and Kentucky on Dec. 13 in Lexington.

Louisville is coming off a 27-8 season, which included an 18-2 mark in ACC play.
