Where do Indiana and its players rank in EA Sports College Football 26?

The release of EA Sports College Football 26 is approaching quickly, and its ratings for both teams and players have been released. This allows fans to see where Indiana stacks up against the rest of the country.
The newest edition of the popular video game will be made available to the public on July 10, with players able to play as early as July 7 if they purchase the preordered deluxe edition. This is the second release after the game’s hiatus from 2014 to 2023, when EA didn’t create a new game due to NIL regulations.
Indiana’s team ratings (out of 99) are as follows:
- Offense: 89 overall (11th in the country)
- Defense: 88 overall (14th in the country)
- Team rating: 87 overall (18th in the country)
The Hoosiers rank as the fourth-best team in the Big Ten by overall team rating, with IU ranking as the third-best offense and the fourth-best defense in the conference. This is a huge improvement over what was seen ahead of the 2024 campaign, with the Hoosiers not projected to be even a top-10 team in the Big Ten a year ago.
Team ratings weren’t the only release though, as initial player ratings for College Football 26 were made available as well. Full player ratings are available here, bit I’ll go through all the rotational players below.
Starting with the offense, almost all the starters for the Hoosiers boast an impressive overall, while IU has depth at several positions with high overalls. Here’s a look at the overalls for the Hoosiers’ notable players on offense.
Quarterback
- Fernando Mendoza: 87 overall
- Grant Wilson: 74 overall
- Alberto Mendoza: 69 overall
Running Back
- Roman Hemby: 87 overall
- Lee Beebe Jr.: 86 overall
- Kaelon Black: 76 overall
Wide Receiver
- Elijah Sarratt: 93 overall
- Omar Cooper Jr.: 84 overall
- EJ Williams Jr.: 79 overall
- Jonathan Brady: 78 overall
- Makai Jackson: 77 overall
Offensive Line
- Carter Smith: 89 overall
- Drew Evans: 84 overall
- Bray Lynch: 82 overall
- Pat Coogan: 81 overall
- Zen Michalski: 79 overall
- Kahlil Benson: 79 overall
These ratings show how talented, yet balanced, the Hoosiers are on the offensive side of the ball. From Mendoza sporting one of the best QB ratings in the Big Ten, to IU having a one-two punch at running back with high overalls, to both the wide receiver and offensive line rooms boasting solid ratings, Indiana has a top offense in the country based on College Football 26’s expectations.
The offense isn’t the only side of the ball where IU ranks highly, as on defense the Hoosiers have some of the biggest names in the Big Ten — and the ratings support that. Here are the ratings for the notable players on the defensive side of the ball.

Defensive Line
- Mikail Kamara: 92 overall
- Tyrique Tucker: 84 overall
- Hosea Wheeler: 81 overall
- Stephen Daley: 80 overall
- Dominique Ratcliff: 79 overall
- Andrew Turvy: 78 overall
- Andrew DePaepe: 77 overall
Linebackers
- Aiden Fisher: 90 overall
- Kellan Wyatt: 82 overall
- Rolijah Hardy: 72 overall

Cornerbacks
- D’Angelo Ponds: 90 overall
- Jamari Sharpe: 81 overall
- Ryland Gandy: 77 overall
- Amariyun Knighten: 76 overall
Safeties
- Amare Ferrell: 87 overall
- Devan Boykin: 86 overall
- Louis Moore: 76 overall
- Bryson Bonds: 75 overall
With Kamara, Fisher and Ponds each holding a 90-plus overall rating, it’s no surprise that Indiana is expected to have many impact players on defense. But beyond those three, there are several other players with impressive ratings.
The defensive line has great depth based on these ratings, while linebacker and cornerback look thin if you go off the numbers. But the IU defense as a whole is getting a good amount of love from EA Sports here.
Indiana also has ratings for its special teams players as well, with the Hoosiers’ kicker and punter ranking as follows.
- Nicolas Radicic: 79 overall
- Mitch McCarthy: 75 overall
These round out Indiana’s notable player ratings, with IU sporting some of the best overalls in the sport in some spots, while others fall a bit short. In totality, though, the Hoosiers have solid depth, and EA Sports is high on Curt Cignetti’s squad — and for good reason.
Indiana fans have a lot to look forward to, with the College Football 26 video game being just a small part of that, but its ratings support the notion that the Hoosiers will be one of the most talented teams not only in the Big Ten, but in all of college football.
