Hawkeye Report Podcast Hoops Preview
Iowa basketball season is almost officially here. Tom Kakert and Kyle Huesmann take a deep dive into the Hawkeye men’s and women’s basketball teams and the season ahead.
First, we open with a lengthy discussion of the Iowa women’s basketball team. Last year they played for an NCAA Title. What can they do for an encore? We look at the new look of the lineup and the importance for the bigs this year. We also talk about Caitlin Clark and what she can do to improve this season and become even better than the best player in women’s college basketball.
Finally, we dive into the women’s basketball schedule. What does Kyle has as his prediction for the team this year against a very challenging schedule of games?
Then we take a deep dive into the Iowa men’s team. It’s a team that looks to replace several key contributors. Who will be the leading scorer this year? How will they make up for the loss of rebounding and who will it come from? What’s the starting lineup going to look like and will it include Josh Dix at point guard? We also discuss the incoming freshman and what to expect from them.
Finally we give our prediction for the season record and if they will make the NCAA Tournament.
