Georgia safety Hannibal Navies talks Kansas State commitment

The third weekend of official visits went about as well as Kansas State could imagine to this point. Four prospects have committed to K-State from the third weekend of official visits already. The third prospect to make his decision to commit to the Wildcats was Georgia safety Hannibal Navies.
Navies’ official visit was his first time in Manhattan and he came away very impressed.
“The visit was great, the coaches showed a lot of love,” Navies began. “I got to the insides of the program and also explored Manhattan, so it was a great weekend.”
Kansas State was able to secure the verbal pledge for the junior safety for a few different reasons.
“The amount of love the coaches show and the coaches have a plan for me and showed me a lot about their program and you can really see they have a special one,” he shared. “I can’t say too much about their plan, but i have a chance to make an impact when I get there.”
The moment Navies committed was a special moment for him and his family.
“It was an awesome moment,” he noted. “I was talking to Coach [Chris] Klieman in a meeting when I told him that I wanted to be a Wildcat and the whole staff was hyped up for me it was a great moment.”
Navies’ relationship with Kansas State defensive coordinator and safeties coach Joe Klanderman also played a role in his commitment.

“Building a relationship with him during the process and learning his coaching style along with it definitely influenced my decision a lot,” he pointed out. “It was good to get to know him more and build that relationship between us he taught me a lot while I was there. He’s a great coach.”
K-State linebacker Darien Whitaker was the host for the junior safety while he was in Manhattan. Whitaker committed to Kansas State last summer and enrolled at K-State in January. The two really hit it off on the visit.
“He was a great host and great person too,” he opined. “Whitaker took me around and showed me the town so he was a good host.”
While in Manhattan Navies was also able to connect with Kingston Hall, Garrick Dixon and Nick McClellan. Coincidentally all four have since their time in The Little Apple.
“It was cool we definitely all loved the school so it was good to see everybodys perspective on it,” he concluded.
