Kansas State has landed its first commitment of the 2025 cycle in St. Louis quarterback Dillon Duff. The announcement from the junior quarterback comes shortly after a visit to K-State that took place on February 3.

It was a fast and furious recruitment for the St. Louis native. Kansas State extended an offer to the junior on January 25. Just eight days after the offer was extended, Duff made it a priority to visit Manhattan before the dead period began.

Duff was also seeing his recruitment really begin to take off. He added offers from Nebraska, Northwestern, Indiana and Georgia Tech in the last few weeks in addition to K-State. Overall it was more of a head-to-head win for Kansas State over Missouri for the signal caller. He had also visited Duke twice.

Matt Wells and Chris Klieman get a major tip of the cap for landing Duff. Klieman and Wells, along with wide receivers coach Matthew Middleton, watched Duff throw over the contact period. Klieman has seen him throw twice in the past year. For Wells to only be on staff for just over six weeks and land the only scholarship offer he made to a quarterback in the 2025 class is very impressive.

K-State has made some hay in St. Louis area recently. Donovan McIntosh, Austin Romaine and Will Lee were added in the 2023 class and now Duff has been added in the 2025 class. Kansas State is also heavily pursuing offensive lineman Lucas Allgeyer as well as Duff’s teammate linebacker Jason King in St. Louis.

This past fall, the junior threw for 1863 yards and 15 touchdowns to five interceptions. Duff is also a dual-threat quarterback adding 495 yards rushing along with eight more touchdowns on the ground. His junior season was his first season starting for De Smet.
