Kansas State linebacker Austin Romaine and tight end Will Swanson have been named to the All-Big 12 preseason team as the lead up to Big 12 Media Days beginning July 8 in Frisco, Texas.

Romaine is coming off of an All Big 12-Second Team selection in 2024. He led the team in tackles a season ago with 96 to go along with 7.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles and two pass breakups. He tied for fifth in the Big 12 in forced fumbles and finished ninth in tackles as he also earned All-Big 12 Second Team accolades from the Associated Press.

The linebackers 96 tackles were the most by a Kansas State player since Jayd Kirby‘s 99 tackles in 2017. Romaine tallied double-digit tackles three times a season ago and was tied for fifth in the Big 12 in forced fumbles. In 2023, as a true freshman Romaine tallied 22 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and one sack while playing in 12 games with five starts.

It has been quite the preseason for Romaine as he was also named All-Big 12 by Athlon Sports earlier this summer.

Swanson was named preseason All-Big 12 as a fullback/H-back. Last season, the Nebraska native was named honorable mention all league. Swanson made four starts while playing in all 13 games last season, catching nine receptions for 66 yards and three touchdowns. His three touchdowns a season ago came in wins versus Tulane, Arizona and Cincinnati and was part of a tight end group that led the nation in touchdown receptions a season ago with 13.

The senior tight end enters 2025 with loads of experience. He has played in 44 career games dating back to 2021. For his career Swanson has 16 career catches for 155 yards and four touchdowns.
