Kansas State OC/OL coach Conor Riley expected to take job with Cowboys

After coming to Kansas State in December of 2018 and being a core member of Chris Klieman’s staff, Conor Riley is expected to leave Manhattan. The offensive line coach who spent time as the offensive coordinator over the last season is expected to accept the offensive line coaching job with the Dallas Cowboys on Friday, KSO has confirmed.
Riley spent six seasons at Kansas State. Prior to that, he spent five seasons at North Dakota State in multiple roles. He will now join first-year NFL head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s staff in Dallas.
Going to Dallas will also be a reunion for Riley. Former Kansas State offensive lineman Cooper Beebe just finished his rookie season as the starting center for the Cowboys. Under Riley, Beebe was the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year twice and an All-American.
In addition to losing a strong offensive line coach, the Wildcats have now lost their offensive coordinator. Riley assumed the role after Collin Klein departed for Texas A&M last season. In total, Riley oversaw the offense for 14 games at Kansas State. This past season, the offense averaged 31 points per game and was 39th nationally in points per drive. That was good for sixth in the Big 12.

Kansas State’s rush offense ranked 11th nationally as well.
K-State had four offensive players receive All-Big 12 second-team honors this past season. Including two offensive linemen in Easton Kilty and Sam Hecht. They were joined by running back DJ Giddens and tight end Garrett Oakley.
While not ideal for Kansas State, Riley shared the offensive coordinator tag with quarterbacks coach Matt Wells who has playcalling experience.
