Kansas State players of the game in the win over Oklahoma State

Kansas State offensive MVP: Jayce Brown
It shows how bad of a day it was for the Kansas State offense that the player of the game did not complete a full half. Jayce Brown was pretty easily K-State’s best offensive player. The junior wideout tallied 82 yards on just three catches and a score. Brown had two of Kansas State’s three longest plays of the day with a 34-yard catch for a score and a 30-yard reception as well. He was injured on the 30-yard catch and did not return to the game.
Avery Johnson was pretty poor from the jump. He still ended with 177 passing yards and a core, but he was out of rhythm from the very first offensive series and could never really get into the flow of the game. Joe Jackson was solid, but not spectacular ending the game with 69 yards and a touchdown.
Defensive MVP: Ryan Davis
Saturday was the Ryan Davis Kansas State has been waiting for. He was all over the field and causing problems for the Oklahoma State offensive line. Davis’ pressure in the first half caused a poor throw leading to a Zashon Rich interception and later in the second half he had a strip sack. Overall, the junior defensive end finished with the sack, two pass deflections and the forced fumble.

Chiddi Obiazor was also pretty solid with 1.5 tackles for a loss and Cody Stufflebean made another big play on a strip sack in the second half. It was a pretty shaky day for the Kansas State defensive line in rush defense, but in obvious passing situations, they were really able to get after Zane Flores.
K-State special teams MVP: Simon McClannan
Simon McClannan gets this award by default for the second straight week. He had six punts averaging 43.7 yards per punt and had four punts downed inside the 20 yard line. It was one of his best games of the season after some poor showings earlier this season.
