2023 5-star center Aaron Bradshaw postpones college decision

Aaron Bradshaw will not announce his college decision this week.

The five-star center claimed he had his mind made up at the NBPA Top 100 Camp last week, telling reporters he chose his future school “a minute ago.” All that was left was making it public.

“That decision is about to come real soon. Like, before Peach Jam, soon. It’s really soon,” said Bradshaw. “… I made my decision a minute ago, just had to thoroughly think it through.”

KSR reported on the Sources Say Podcast this past weekend, though, that Bradshaw was having cold feet on a public commitment, with an announcement this week now seen as unlikely. Now, the 7-foot center out of New Jersey has confirmed that report himself.

Rather than jumping into a commitment, Bradshaw says he has pushed things back “a little bit.”

“Me and my mom talked it over and just thought I can’t be rushing into things,” Bradshaw told ZAGSBLOG.com. “I just have to take my time. I pushed it back a little bit. Not too far, but I pushed it back.”

Kentucky, seen as the overwhelming favorite in recent weeks, is fighting to close things out down the stretch. Sources tell KSR that while the G-League remains a threat, other colleges — namely Louisville — remain in contention as Bradshaw inches closer toward a decision.

“(Kentucky and Louisville) are my places right there,” Bradshaw told ZAGSBLOG.com. “Those are my guys. I know a lot of people there. I know a lot of people that went there. And I just know a lot about the schools. It’s not just those two, there’s other schools I really like too.”

Bradshaw added that his decision won’t come down to his high school and grassroots teammate DJ Wagner’s future plans. They may go to the same school together, but they may not, as well. The five-star center plans to make the best decision for himself.

“We’re both men,” Bradshaw added. “We both have decisions we’re going to make. We may be together, we may not. So that’s his decision and that’s my decision.”

What is Bradshaw looking for in a school?

“A place that makes me feel at home,” the five-star center told KSR. “A place that makes me feel comfortable, somewhere I can talk about my feelings and get to be a better me at that place. I want to feel like, ‘This is home,’ everywhere I go.”

Once seen as the likely landing spot, Kentucky is working to close things out down the stretch.
