Kentucky is Clicking with its New Quarterback

Brock Vandagriff has somewhat been a man of mystery. We have seen a few clips of him throwing the football. We also know he likes to hunt and fish in his downtime. His teammates are the best resources to learn more about the Kentucky quarterback and so far this spring many have commended his leadership style. The new guy is not just bonding with his pass-catchers.

“It’s been very fun,” said Key. “He’s a ball player and he’s also a really good leader that we’re so happy to have on this team because he just brings a lot to the table with everybody, just being around him and all the other guys clicking with him. All the other guys on the team, even the defensive guys are clicking with Brock and that’s not really normal. He’s such a good leader that everybody on the team starting to click with him.”

Welcome to the SEC

It’s difficult to pry an answer from Mark Stoops when you ask him what he thinks about Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC. Dane Key is happy to up the ante with two more traditional powerhouses in the conference.

“I think it’s an awesome opportunity to be able that Texas and Oklahoma are now in the SEC. It’s just another great game to add to the schedule for every team in the SEC because those are two great opponents and everybody’s gonna be looking forward to play with them. I think we’re gonna be super excited to play there.”

Key added they aren’t looking too far ahead, but you can. Kentucky makes the road trip to Austin in the penultimate week of the season on November 23.

Dane Key is Proud to Play for his Home State

Most of the conversation with Finebaum was about his family and ties to the Commonwealth of Kentucky. KSR country is quite familiar with those ties. There’s another advantage to playing close to home and it’s financial. It’s just another way NIL is changing the game.

“A lot of guys who would leave their home state to go play at other schools, big name schools, a lot of kids are staying locally now so that they can play in front of their home state and also get a chance to earn NIL revenue and really make a name for themselves in their home state.”

Dane Key has been a household name for KSR fans for quite some time. After two solid seasons to start his career, his legend could grow as a homegrown hero during his third campaign in Lexington.
