Carsyn Baker has been committed to Florida since June, but he sure wasn’t acting like a Gator as he watched Kentucky romp his future team on Saturday night in Lexington.

A four-star recruit ranked No. 203 overall in the 2026 high school class, Baker has spent the weekend on UK’s campus for a surprise official visit. Ever since Florida canned head coach Billy Napier a few weeks ago, the talented running back has been keeping his options open while remaining committed to Florida for the time being.

Could that change sooner rather than later? While on his visit to Kentucky, Baker posted a picture of himself in a Wildcat jersey and helmet in the middle of the Wildcats’ 38-7 beatdown of Florida at Kroger Field. The Langston Hughes (GA) product posted several pictures from his OV over on his Instagram page, as well.

If you’re a program trying to flip a recruit, having them watch the team they’re currently committed to get spanked on the road is not a bad strategy.

Baker has been hearing from a slew of schools ever since Napier’s firing. Kentucky isn’t the only one. The likes of Florida State, South Carolina, and Georgia Tech have also been in regular contact over the last few weeks. He was at Georgia Tech last weekend for a gameday visit.

Kentucky’s interest in Baker goes all the way back to May 2024, when running backs coach Jay Boulware extended him an offer. A couple of months later, he was on campus for an unofficial visit. Then the likes of Penn State, Alabama, Ohio State, Southern California, and plenty more began to get involved. Florida eventually offered him in August 2024. Baker trimmed his list down to a top 15 that November, with UK making the cut.

Baker made his way back to the Bluegrass State in the summer before committing to Florida. He announced four official offers on August 1 of this year: Kentucky, Florida, Florida State, and South Carolina. UK was still in the race at the time and has continued to make a push, leading to this weekend’s official visit. But will it ultimately lead to a flip for the Widlcats?

Kentucky currently has 15 class of 2026 players committed, led by four-star QB Matt Ponatoski. There is only one running back locked in with UK from this cycle, three-star Delvecchio Alston. Baker would immediately be among the top commits if Kentucky can complete the flip and lock him down. But don’t be surprised if Baker takes more visits in the coming weeks while also considering his status with Florida.
