We’ll know which college Boogie Fland plans to suit up for by the end of the week.

Fland, a five-star class of 2024 point guard, will announce his college decision this Friday, Oct. 20 at 2:00 p.m. EST at his New York-based high school, Archbishop Stepinac, his coach tells KSR+. Fland is considered the No. 15 overall high school senior in the country by On3 and the top-rated point guard. He’ll choose between a trio of finalists that includes Kentucky, Indiana, and Alabama.

Kentucky head coach John Calipari has been all over Fland in recent weeks. The 6-foot-3 floor general took his official visit to UK in September and soon received two in-person visits from Calipari after that in less than a week span. Calipari then returned in early October for another in-person visit.

In addition to Kentucky, Fland has taken official visits to his other two finalists. He was at Indiana back in June and visited Alabama in late September. Coming down the home stretch, Kentucky and Indiana have been rumored as the frontrunners, with the Hoosiers believed to hold a slight edge. 247Sports insider Travis Branham told KSR on the Sources Say Podcast last month that it was a “head-to-head” battle between UK and IU.

“Coach Cal has a really long track record with point guards,” Fland told On3’s Jamie Shaw last week. “Especially developing them. He has a track record of getting his guys to the next level and then getting them to their second contract. That’s really big with me and what stood out with them.

“Everything about the campus stood out. But the housing for the players is right beside the gym, so if it rains, snows, whatever, all you got to do is walk two feet, and you’re in there. They have a good culture there, and I liked the environment.”

Playing for the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL circuit over the summer, Fland shined in the pre-Peach Jam sessions. He averaged 15.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game on shooting splits of 43.5/33.3/77.5. Even though his numbers dipped slightly at Peach Jam, he was still able to help lead PSA to a 4-2 record in the event.

Kentucky currently has one class of 2024 commit locked in, four-star center Somto Cyril. Is Fland next to join the fold, or will he head for the Hoosiers? We’ll find out in a few days.
