5-star SF Baba Oladotun is in Lexington for his official visit to Kentucky

Mark Pope and the Kentucky men’s basketball coaching staff have spent most of the fall hosting the best high school players in the country for official visits. With the 2025-26 season-opener not far away, they’ll bring one more recruit to town before fully locking in.
Five-star class of 2026 prospect Baba Oladotun arrived in Lexington on Friday for his official visit with Kentucky, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. The 6-foot-8 wing, who recently reclassified from the 2027 cycle, will be in attendance for tonight’s Blue-White Game and is expected to spend the weekend checking out what UK has to offer.
Oladotun is considered the No. 10 overall high school senior in the country, per the Rivals Industry Ranking. The James Hubert Blake (Silver Spring, MD) product has already made official visit trips to nearby schools: Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Georgetown. As of right now, he has not announced any other official visits.
It was July 2024 when KSR first reported Kentucky’s interest in Oladotun. Still 15 years old at the time, his coaches were beginning to hear from the UK staff. A few months later, he officially received an offer from the ‘Cats, Pope’s first scholarship to a 2027 recruit. Oladotun was ranked No. 2 in his class when the offer came in. Pope extended the offer to Oladotun in person.

“I was blown away. It almost brought me to tears,” Oladotun’s father, Ibrahim, told KSR+ about the Kentucky offer. “Everything that’s happening to him is very historic. That’s just remarkable. Kentucky basketball, bluegrass, and all of that stuff are a big deal. It’s living the dream.”
When the contact period opened this past June, Oladotun was one of the first recruits UK coaches reached out to. In August, he announced his intentions to reclassify to 2026. The following month, members of the Kentucky staff paid him an in-home visit. All of that legwork has led to this weekend’s official visit.
Since June, Kentucky has hosted a dozen four- and five-star 2026 recruits for official visits. Oladotun will be the 13th and the last one currently on the schedule.
