5-star SF Christian Collins has wrapped up official visit to Kentucky

Another five-star basketball recruit spent a few days in Lexington. 6-foot-8 wing Christian Collins took his official visit to Kentucky over the weekend.
And by all accounts, the trip went well (they usually do). Collins arrived on campus Friday and stayed in town through Sunday. He was originally scheduled to be joined by fellow five-star Cam Williams, a 6-foot-11 power forward, but Williams had to postpone his OV and will make his way to Kentucky later on down the road. That allowed Mark Pope and his staff to focus solely on Collins.
Ranked No. 8 overall in the class of 2026, Collins has also gone on visits to see Oregon and Southern California. The native of California is close with UK assistant coach Jason Hart, who has strong ties out west. Collins even posted a video to his Instagram Story over the weekend of him and Hart racing each other at Kroger Field. And of course, he was treated to the traditional jersey photoshoot, which you can check out below.
I particularly liked the part of the video below where Collins points to the “MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME” inscription…

Hart has been in contact with Collins and his family for over a year now, which led to the Wildcats extending him an offer in April during an in-home visit. Pope served as one of Collins’ assistant coaches during this summer’s USA Basketball trials in Colorado Springs. Both Hart and Pope visited him in California earlier this month. There is real momentum in this recruitment for the ‘Cats.
“[Pope] is like a proud dad,” Collins told KSR+ in July. “He’ll be recording you and he’s cheering for you. He’s a really good guy. He has nice energy. He’s really positive.”
Collins has kept his recruitment close to the vest. No other official visits have been made public just yet, and neither has a decision date. Kentucky is expected to host another pair of official visitors over the next week in five-star PG Deron Rippey Jr. and four-star SG Bryson Howard.
