No matter how you slice it, Kentucky’s 85-65 loss to Alabama was absolutely brutal. While we wait for postgame remarks from John Calipari and players, here are a few numbers behind the largest home loss of the John Calipari era.

14: Threes by Alabama

The Crimson Tide came in averaging nine threes per game. They surpassed that number in the first half, going 10-22 from behind the arc. Bama cooled off slightly in the second, making 4-8 threes, but still, 14 threes in one game is a lot, especially when Kentucky only made 4-18.

32-22: Points in Paint

Alabama didn’t just beat Kentucky from the outside, they beat the Cats on the inside with 32 points in the paint to Kentucky’s 22. Kentucky only made 8 of 18 layups (44.4%). EIGHT!

19: Turnovers

It’s hard to score when you turn the ball over 19 times. That’s just shy of Kentucky’s season-high of 21 vs. Richmond and Georgia Tech, also losses.

7: Assists

Only seven assists tonight, THREE from Kentucky’s starting backcourt of Devin Askew and Davion Mintz. Not good.

39:17: Alabama’s lead time

From start to finish, it was a beatdown.
