aj-reedhttp://houston.astros.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/social_media/og/hou.jpg Arguably the best player to ever come out of the University of Kentucky, A.J. Reed was selected 42nd overall by the Houston Astros in the Second Round of the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft Thursday night. The National & SEC Player of the Year originally was drafted by the New York Mets in the 25th round back in 2011, but turned it down to better himself in the collegiate ranks. Currently, the junior from Terre Haute, In. leads the NCAA in home runs (23) [more than 185 teams in college baseball], slugging (.735), and OPS (1.211). On behalf of everyone here at KSR, congrats A.J.!
