Aaron Torres Sports Podcast Ep. 247: NFL Draft thoughts + Mark Pope joins the show
It’s Thursday and you know what that means: An all new edition of the Aaron Torres Podcast. Aaron is joined by his good friend Nick Coffey to talk all things NFL Draft, before Aaron welcomes BYU head coach and former Kentucky Wildcat Mark Pope to the show (the interview was recorded before Matt Haarms announced that he would choose between Kentucky and BYU earlier this week). Here is a rundown of the show:
NFL Draft thoughts with Nick Coffey: Aaron welcomes his old buddy Nick Coffey to the show for a wide-ranging catch up. The guys talk about attending sporting events post-coronavirus and the G-League path and Jalen Green. Then they turn their attention to the NFL Draft. Is there any real reason to pass on Tua? And will Joe Burrow ever actually be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL?

Mark Pope joins the show: Next up, Mark Pope joins the show for a fun, long form interview. The guys discuss his playing days at Kentucky, why Pope calls them “some of the best years of his life” and why no one presses anymore. Then he discusses his time in med school after his playing career, before he transitioned into his coaching. Finally, he discusses this season at BYU, and why it was so disappointing the Cougars never had a chance to play in the NCAA Tournament (Note: This interview was recorded before BYU and Kentucky became finalists for Matt Haarms).
