A top-40 prospect in the senior class is in contact with Kentucky and is in the process of setting up a visit.

Adrame Diongue, a 7-foot center out of Chandler, Arizona and a native of Senegal, is down to five schools in Kentucky, Kansas, UNLV, Washington State and Texas Tech. Now, he’s ready to start narrowing down his finalists and choose a school.

Diongue, ranked No. 36 overall and No. 6 at his position in the 2022 On3 Player Rankings, is hoping to see what Kentucky has to offer in the near future.

“I have been talking to their coaching staff regularly,” Diongue told On3 at GEICO Nationals last week. “We are trying to set up a visit date. I am excited to get over there and see them, build the relationship more, and find out more about how they are looking for me to contribute.”

The four-star center was a former teammate of Kentucky standout TyTy Washington at AZ Compass Prep. UK assistant coach Chin Coleman reached out and expressed interest back in March, paving way for the Wildcats to be included in his final list cut.

Now that he is back home from GEICO Nationals, Diongue will set up visits and make a decision shortly after.

“After GEICO ends, when I get back home,” Diongue told On3. “I’m going to start setting up visits to these schools. I’ll commit soon after I am done taking the visits.”

New to the sport, Diongue wants to go to a school that will develop him and help him reach his potential.

“I want to go somewhere they can develop me as a player,” the four-star center said. “I have only played basketball for three years, so development is huge for me. I’ll look at how they use their bigs and the style they play too.”

A rim-running, shot-blocking center, Diongue compares his game to Atlanta Hawks standout Clint Capela.

“I finish everything around the rim. I’ve been watching a lot of Clint Capela. He plays exactly how I play. The footwork, blocking shots, rim running, I try and take a lot from him.”

Now, he’s trying to pave his own path to the pros at one of five different schools.

Will Kentucky make a serious push for Diongue? We’ll find out sooner rather than later.
