After a run of attrition on the offensive side of the football, Kentucky has its first defensive player in the portal. Cornerback Adrian Huey will enter the transfer portal after spending two years in Lexington. The redshirt freshman, a member of the 2021-22 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll, will have three years of eligibility remaining.

A 6-foot, 172-pound athlete from Hillsboro High School (Nashville, TN), Huey was a three-star prospect when he signed with the Wildcats. The No. 82 cornerback in the country, he was the No. 22 player from Tennessee in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Huey redshirted his first year at Kentucky back in 2021 and did not register any snaps in 2022.

The former three-star recruit originally chose the Wildcats over Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas and Mississippi State. Huey was a four-year letter winner and three-year starter at Hillsboro, highlighted by 2020 Preseason Second-Team All-Tennessee honors by MaxPreps.com. In seven games as a senior, he totaled 17 tackles and five pass breakups while allowing zero touchdowns in either of his final two seasons of high school.

Now, the Nashville native is looking for a new home.
