Amani Gilmore will transfer to North Texas

Amani Gilmore is trading in his Kentucky blue for Mean Green.
The former Wildcat quarterback announced he will suit up for North Texas this fall. Located in Denton, TX, just north of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, Gilmore will be much closer to his hometown of Hammond, LA.

Gilmore is the third person in the North Texas program with a Kentucky connection. Former staffer Luke Walerius serves as the chief of staff and former UK wide receivers coach Tommy Mainord is the associate head coach and co-offensive coordinator.
Members of Conference-USA, in 2019 they finished just 4-8 following the departure of offensive coordinator Graham Harrell, now a star play-caller at USC.
