It took an extra two days, but Kyra Elzy’s first-ever recruiting class is now all future Wildcats.

On Friday afternoon, four-star class of 2022 guard Amiya Jenkins out of Anderson County High School signed her National Letter of Intent with Kentucky Women’s Basketball. The 5-foot-10 native of the Bluegrass State is the fourth and final commit to sign her NLI with UK.

Kentucky received NLI from four-stars Tionna Herron and Saniah Tyler, along with in-state prospect Cassidy Rowe, on Wednesday; the start of the early signing period. Jenkins was one of the best players from the state of Kentucky as a junior in 2021 and figures to be a frontrunner (along with Rowe) for Kentucky Miss Basketball this season.

More on Amiya Jenkins

Jenkins was a major pickup for Elzy, especially being right in her own backyard. Ranked as a top-100 player in her class by ESPN, Jenkins is a special talent in what shaped up to be an impressive group of recruits. She committed to the ‘Cats not long ago, either, doing so on Oct. 18.

“MeMe is the prototype wing/guard that we are looking for here at Kentucky and cannot wait to see her on the floor next season,” Elzy said in UK’s press release. “She is athletic, explosive, fit and a competitor. What we loved about MeMe is that she has improved in every single area of her game over the last few years. She is a great scorer and handles the ball extremely well. Just like the others in this class, she will bring great energy to the floor with her defense. She is a Kentucky kid that fits our style and bleeds blue. It’s special to be from this state and wear Kentucky across your chest.”
