Kentucky transfer Anfernee Crease signs with Texas State

Former junior college transfer Anfernee Crease spent just one season at Kentucky after spending his entire playing career in Texas. Now the Lonestar State native is returning home to continue his college football carer.
The offensive tackle signed with Texas State on Tuesday.
The Tomball (Texas) Memorial product started his career at Division II Texas-Permian Basin in 2022 and took a redshirt. Anfernee Crease then moved to Navarro College where he played one season of junior college football. That led to the transfer committing to SMU but ultimately flipping to Kentucky. Crease played in just two games for the Wildcats. After running with the second unit at right tackle in Kentucky’s spring showcase, Crease entered the portal. Group of Five offers began to roll in.
Florida Atlantic, New Mexico State, North Texas, Southern Miss, and Temple all issued scholarship offers to Anfernee Crease. The SEC transfer decided to sign with Texas State where he will play in a tempo spread scheme under head coach G.J. Kinne. Former Kentucky assistant coach Bradley Dave Peveto is currently a co-defensive coordinator at Texas State.
Anfernee Crease is the 10th Kentucky transfer to sign with a Group of Five program this offseason.
