Another One Gone.....Reeves Nelson to UCLA
This is a piece of news that doesnt go down well. Reeves Nelson, a prospect from Modesto, California and a 2009 player that attends the same high school as Chuck Hayes and Michael Porter, has decided to attend UCLA for his college career. Nelson is coached by Michael Porter’s father and has long been a huge target for the Cats, going back to the Tubby Smith regime. Coach Clyde had made Nelson one of his key targets in 2009 and there had been some speculation that UK was in the mix with UNC and UCLA for his services. But now Reeves has surprised some by declaring early and deciding to go to Westwood. This is another tough loss for the UK program and is another player with big skills in the 2009 class that is off the board. This was a big time get that at one point, UK seemed ready to potentially bring to Lexington. Now he is headed to UCLA….and by a devilish coincidence he is playing in Lexington on Saturday night at Memorial Coliseum. Things sometimes just arent fair…..
