Anthony Davis will have to pay to own his unibrow

If Anthony Davis wants to own the rights to "Fear The Brow," it's going to cost him a little more than the price of the stamp he used to submit the trademark papers. Despite reports last week that the No. 1 pick already owns the phrase, Davis will have to cough up some money to Reid Coffman, a UK fan and business owner who bought the "Fear The Brow" trademark last November. Coffman, owner of Blue Zone apparel, insists he owns the phrase because he coined it, but says he's willing to give it up for the right price. If Davis' recent comments about the trademark are any indication, he'll fight to obtain the rights to the popular phrase. After shaking David Stern's hand at the NBA Draft, he talked to ESPN's Mark Jones about the trademark and asked, "Who doesn't love money?" While Coffman demands money to relinquish the trademark to Davis, Davis actually has a case as to why it should belong to him in the first place. Sure, Coffman was first to trademark it, but it was created with Davis' likeness and it grew because of his popularity. I don't know his asking price, but I'm sure Coffman has already made enough money off of the phrase. He should hand it over to Davis so he can afford the car payments on that white-on-white Bentley.
