After making their elaborate entrances into Rupp Arena and warming up a bit on the court, Kentucky’s men’s team began its portion of Big Blue Madness with a 3-Point Contest to entertain the fans.

Four Wildcats participated in the shoot-out; among them was defending champion CJ Fredrick who was scheduled to shoot first until he reminded organizers of his past-champion status and requested the second slot in the rotation. Newcomer Antonio Reeves shot first instead and Reeves’ opening score of 19 was the eventual winner in the one-round contest.

Fredrick and Jacob Toppin finished in a tie for second in front of freshman Chris Livingston, the new athletic forward on the team, in fourth. Livingston and Toppin also participated in the dunk contest.

It’s worth noting the money balls in the 3-Point Contest were NOCTA brand, the new Nike sub-label that used prized recruit DJ Wagner in its promotions. Wagner is in attendance as a Big Blue Madness visitor.
