Ashton Hagans is planning on switching numbers...for Jaden McDaniels?

The Big Blue Nation’s favorite news breaker is back at it again.

Kentucky point guard Ashton Hagans is a big fan of Instagram. Throughout the NCAA Tournament, his Instagram usage gave fans a sneak peek into the P.J. Washington saga, shedding light on an otherwise unclear situation. Last night he revealed some news that will pique the interest of conspiracy theorists.

In the middle of a Q&A on his Instagram story, Hagans posed this multiple choice question to his followers:

Those who are proficient at connecting the dots, like friend of the program KY_Clips, noted that one other potential future Wildcat is a big fan of the deuce, Jaden McDaniels.

Maybe Hagans isn’t ditching his number for Jaden McDaniels. Maybe Hagans just wants to wear the same number he wore at Newton High School. After all, Quade Green had No. 0 claimed prior to the start of last season.

Maybe the No. 2 isn’t for Jaden McDaniels. Maybe it’s for another incoming Wildcat, Kahlil Whitney. The Dragon wore the deuce on the AAU Circuit and at Roselle Catholic. Well, he’s not taking it to Kentucky.

If you need to connect more dots on social media, you may have also noticed that McDaniels started following Dontaie Allen on Instagram today. You know who else started following Allen the day before he committed? Johnny Juzang.

Speculation aside, we still do not definitively know when McDaniels will make a college announcement. Reports circulated yesterday that McDaniels would chose on May 20, only for the report to be quickly refuted by his trainer. 247’s Evan Daniels does not know exactly when McDaniels will decide, but it will be soon.

“I expect it to come in the very near future. By that I mean in the coming days,” Daniels said in a Q&A. On Wednesday Daniels predicted the the ten wing would ultimately choose Kentucky.

The final day of the spring signing period is May 15. Until Wednesday, enjoy reading all of the social media tea leaves.
