It’s been all defense so far at Jordan-Hare Stadium, where Kentucky and Auburn are tied 3-3 at halftime in a game short on points but full of punts.

After a scoreless first quarter, Jacob Kauwe put the Wildcats in front midway through the second with a 48-yard field goal, finishing off a long drive led by Cutter Boley, who’s done more with his legs than his arm. Seth McGowan and Kendrick Law have given Kentucky some balance, combining for short gains as the offense sticks with its run-first and quick-throw approach. Tight end Willie Rodriguez caught an eight-yard pass before heading to the locker room with an apparent ankle injury.

The Wildcats’ defense looked good for most of the half, forcing five tackles for loss and three sacks before a costly turnover flipped the momentum late. Boley was intercepted while driving before halftime, and Auburn returned it to the 35, setting up the Tigers’ first scoring opportunity. Ashton Daniels and Jeremiah Cobb pushed Auburn inside the 10-yard line as the clock ticked away, but Kentucky’s defense held strong, forcing a short Alex McPherson (Evan’s little brother) field goal to tie it just before the break.

At halftime, it’s 3-3 on the Plains, the lowest-scoring first half in the SEC this season, with both teams still searching for rhythm on offense in what’s turned into a physical, low-scoring fight.

Box Score: Kentucky 3, Auburn 3
