Auburn vs Kentucky 1984

bowie You knew this was coming. Below is the SEC Championship game between Auburn and Kentucky in Nashville. The one that results in Charles Barkley crying underneath the basket. The round mound of rebound was a blubbery mess whose heat was broken by Kenny Sky Walker and his last-second, game-winning shot. As I rewatched this clip, one of the things that stands out for me is how well Kentucky used both their big men. Bowie and Turpin would jump, receive a pass, then immediately kick it to an open player before their feet even hit the ground. The result was a number of open looks for the Cats. It is clear that the offense flowed well when running through either big man. If Boogie ever looks to improve his game, adding some Sam Bowie-esque passing to the arsenal wouldn't be a bad idea. The other thing that stands out is Melvin Turpin's post game interview. He can barely contain his glee and seems like a fun guy to be around. Give it a look and let it get you pumped up for the game today:
