Happy Sunday, everyone! To add on to what was a great day of basketball in the Bluegrass State, the 'Cats in the NBA also shined, with Bam Adebayo, DeMarcus Cousins, Jamal Murray, Anthony Davis and Eric Bledsoe all scoring 20 or more. Check out their stats from last night along with the rest of the Cats who were in action.
Recap
Bam's 40-piece almost overcomes the Super-Nets
The new-look Brooklyn Nets are a blindfolded roller coaster ride. A thrilling, unpredictable ride with a shot of pure adrenaline. After acquiring James Harden to add with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, the Nets haven't quite lived up to expectations having just lost two in a row to the worst offense in the NBA, the Cavaliers.
But they rebounded last night with an exciting win over the Miami Heat.
Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler remained sidelined but
Bam Adebayo is back and set a new career-high! Former All-NBA center DeAndre Jordan looked like a remnant of neolithic-era basketball trying to guard someone as jumpy and mobile as Bam, and it showed as Adebayo punked him for 41 points on 14-20 shooting. He also added nine assists, serving as the hub of an offense that almost beat out the team with three of the best scorers in the league.

Jamal Murray sends it to OT with ridiculous buzzer-beater
The conversation around
Jamal Murray's start to the season has centered around his continued lack of consistency in the regular season. After setting historic scoring records during Denver's surprise run to the Western Conference Finals, Nuggets fans and NBA media expected a significant jump in Murray's output in 2021. So far, the fifth-year former Cat has yet to meet those expectations, hovering right around 19 points a game on modest efficiency.
Last night, he reminded everyone that he's still as good as anyone in the clutch. With nine seconds left in regulation and Denver down 98-95 to a Devin Booker-less Phoenix, Murray wiggled free for an acrobatic stepback three:

That wonder-shot sent the game of the night to overtime, where the Nuggets and Suns remained neck-and-neck. Again, near the end of the clock with the Nuggets up three points this time, 106-103, the Suns responded with a contested Jae Crowder three to send the game to a second overtime.

The second extra period handily went to the Nuggets, who finally secured the victory, 120-112. Murray finished with 26-6-5 including the shot that saved Denver.
A season-high in Anthony Davis' return home
The Chicago-native and his Los Angeles Lakers took care of business against the Bulls. With LeBron in cruise control for much of the contest,
Anthony Davis dominated a woefully outmatched Chicago frontcourt, pouring in 37 points on an uber-efficient 14-21 from the field (66%), knocking down a pair of threes and seven of nine free throws. Davis also recorded six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block as Chicago had no answers and the Lakers mowed down the Bulls.
Other BBNBA Notes
A vintage Boogie game. DeMarcus Cousins' laundry-list of past injuries didn't hamper him last night. Led by Boogie, the Rockets put on their best performance since James Harden left. They busted up the Mavericks pretty good, winning by 25 and hanging over 130 points with a 133-108 victory. Cousins was a monster in the paint, snagging 17 boards and finishing seemingly every post touch he got. He also shot well and often from outside, nailing four of his eight three-point attempts, finishing with 28 points while adding five assists.
Jarred Vanderbilt shines in relief of KAT. Jarred Vanderbilt has always been raw, with a more developed body than basketball skillset. But like we're seeing with Isaiah Jackson (the two were/are eerily similar during their time at UK), skill goes by the wayside when your body can do things 99% of other professional basketball players cannot. Vanderbilt's high motor and immense athleticism were on full display last night as the third-year forward gobbled up 11 boards (five on offense) and scored 16 points in just 21 minutes of play as a starter.
A bizarre Mychal Mulder stat line. In a game that his Golden State Warriors fell by 19 to the Jazz, it's a wonder
Mychal Mulder didn't play more. During his brief 12 minutes of action, he made both of his shots--one from 3-point range--recorded a rebound and assist, two steals, a block, and Golden State outscored Utah by 17 points while he was on the court. In limited time, Mulder rocked out.
