BBNBA: Booker, Suns Overcome 22-Point Fourth-Quarter Deficit to Stun Kings

Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns overcame a 22-point fourth-quarter Tuesday night to stun De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings 119-117.

Phoenix trailed 113-96 before ending the game on a 23-4 run, stealing one from a conference foe at home.

Booker was uncharacteristically quiet Tuesday night, scoring just 16 points on 5-14 (1-3 3PT) shooting. Book however finished with 11 assists, notching his 10th double-double of the season.

Fox had himself another strong performance, adding more fuel to his cause for a Western Conference All-Star spot. Fox poured in 33 points on 12-24 (6-10 3PT) shooting and dished six assists.

Fox, who hit a clutch jumper to tie the game with 19 seconds remaining, then proceeded to foul a Kevin Durant long jumper with just seconds to go. Durant knocked down both free throws to give Phoenix the win.

Malik Monk, who has struggled a bit lately, tweeted earlier this week “My fault Sac!! I’ll be better.”

Monk shot 5-16 (2-7 3PT) from the field and finished with eight assists Tuesday night. Trey Lyles, who played 14 minutes off the bench, failed to record a point on 0-2 shooting.

With Phoenix’s win, the Suns inch just one game behind the Kings for the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference.

Maxey, Sixers Hold off Defending Champions in Philly

Tyrese Maxey poured in 25 points and nine assists Tuesday night as the Philadelphia 76ers downed the defending NBA Champion Denver Nuggets at home 126-121.

Joel Embiid, who is currently the slight NBA Most Valuable Player Award favorite over Nikola Jokic, completely owned this game. Embiid outscored Jokic by 16 points and recorded his 25th double-double of the season.

Jamal Murray recorded a double-double as well, his fourth of the season. Murray scored 17 points (7-16 shooting) while dishing out 10 assists.

OKC Thunder Fall Flat in Loss to Clippers

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander wasn’t his usual self as the Oklahoma City Thunder were handled easily by the red-hot Los Angeles Clippers 128-117 Tuesday night in LA.

SGA had himself a forgettable night from the field, shooting just 6-16 (0-3 3PT) for 19 points.

Cason Wallace however made waves around the NBA for a steal-and-slam dunk, but maybe not for the right reasons. Cason may have taken a few extra steps on his way to the basket…

Wallace finished with five points on 2-4 shooting (1-2 3PT).

With the win, Los Angeles pulls within one game of Oklahoma City for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
