On Thursday night, the Sacramento Kings were the story of the NBA thanks to former UNC Tarheel (boo!) Harrison Barnes, who scored a career-high 39 points against the Golden State Warriors. But, that’s not why we’re here.

Thanks to former ‘Cat (yay!) De’Aaron Fox‘s game-sealing steal, the Kings were able to secure a 134-133 win over the Warriors. With the last seconds of regulation winding down, Stephen Curry was looking to create something against Fox. However, the 2023 All-NBA selection held strong and ultimately won the game for the Kings in the end.

Along with his game-winning clutch play, Fox scored 29 points on 9-16 (3-7 3PT) shooting while also dishing out five assists. While he didn’t earn a starting spot on the 2024 NBA All-Star team like former ‘Cat Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did, Fox has shown why he most definitely deserves a spot somewhere on the All-Star team.

Other BBNBA Notes:

  • Karl-Anthony Towns followed up his historic 62-point effort by putting up 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the T-Wolves to a 96-94 victory over the Nets.
  • The Lakers were able to get back to .500 following Anthony Davis‘ 22 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists outing. Jarred Vanderbilt posted 17 points, five rebounds, and three steals as the Lakers took down the Bulls 141-132 in Los Angeles.
  • Tyrese Maxey‘s 22 points weren’t enough to lift the 76ers past the Pacers, who had lost three consecutive games leading up to this matchup.
  • Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro each scored 19 points for the Miami Heat. However, they were rocked by the top-seeded Celtics 143-110.
  • The Denver Nuggets were shell-shocked by the Knicks 122-84. Julius Randle recorded 17 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds in the win.
  • Malik Monk and Trey Lyles gave the Kings just enough contribution for them to come out with a win on the road, combining for 12 points.
  • Jamal Murray struggled offensively despite his seven assists, scoring just nine points against the Knicks.
  • In just five minutes of play, Isaiah Jackson swatted away two shots as the Pacers stole one over the 76ers.
