BBNBA: De'Aaron Fox drops 41, T-Wolves get huge win in Miami

We’ve got a decent amount of action to talk about on today’s BBNBA recap. De’Aaron Fox and Tyler Herro played spectacularly in their team’s losses while Minnesota keeps on rollin’.

Fox with 41 and another loss

The Sacramento Kings are comical. Last night they dropped their fourth straight game to fall 21 games below .500. De’Aaron Fox’s scoring outputs in those games: 44 points, 24 points, 32 points and 41 points on Saturday night in Utah. Since returning from injury on February 8th, only two players in the entire NBA have scored more points than De’Aaron Fox: Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic.

Fox is averaging 29.1 points a night since the start of February, but his Kings have won just four of their last 15 games and are in free fall. So much for trying to make the play-in in year one of the Fox-Sabonis combo. Mercy, these guys suck.

What a waste of Fox’s talent.

Minnesota staves off Herro and Heat

Last week, I pleaded that Minnesota is capable of making an end-of-season run to get firmly into the middle of the playoff pack and position themselves to maybe win a series or two. Well, they’ve only looked better since.

Saturday, they picked up a win in Miami against the Heat, the East’s one-seed. Karl-Anthony Towns didn’t post crazy numbers but he did hit this fadeaway late in the fourth to help seal Minnesota’s seventh victory in their last eight games against Miami.

Minnesota is playing better than any team in the NBA since the All-Star break. They lead the league with eight wins since the return to play and are out-scoring opponents by 12.2 points per 100 possessions, the best mark in the league by more than three points. Additionally, the T-Wolves are second in defense and third in offense. They’re bludgeoning the rest of the league right now.

After six years of losing and turbulence in Minnesota, I’m elated to see KAT and that franchise find success. These guys are young, hungry and extraordinarily talented. Very bullish on their chances to make noise in the West.

Let’s talk some Heat, though. Despite the loss, Tyler Herro continued his stretch of great play and great scoring with 30 points off the bench to lead all scorers. Bam Adebayo contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds, as well.
