Before we jump into all things BBNBA from Sunday, I just want to wish you and your family many blessings during this magical time of the year known as Louisville Hate Week. In this joyous season of giving, make sure to take some time and share your disdain for the Cardinals with that special rival in your life.

Devin Booker started the week off right, pouring in 27 points in the Suns’ victory over the Washington Wizards. The win came with no help from former Louisville Cardinal, Damion Lee, who unsurprisingly had zero points. Sure, he might have had knee surgery in the offseason and hasn’t even played yet this season, but what kind of excuse is that?

The Suns trailed for most of the game but kicked off the 4th quarter with a 9-2 run (Booker scored or assisted on seven of those nine points) to get them back into the game where they pulled ahead in the closing minutes.

The Suns showcased their new El Valle jerseys and court on Sunday, which was appropriate because, as you may or may not know, “El Valle” is Spanish for “Louisville sucks.”

Other BBNBA Notes:

  • It was a light slate of NBA games on Sunday, but a few former ‘Cats put up double-digit figures. Keldon Johnson scored 13 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and came away with four steals, however, the woeful Spurs took another blowout loss, this time at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans.
  • Shaedon Sharpe did not have any highlight ankle-breaking crossovers or monstrous dunks, but he was part of a suspenseful final play on Sunday. After Steph Curry missed a rare free throw, Sharpe got the ball and drove the length of the court with the Blazers down two points with less than five seconds left on the clock. However, Brandin Podziemski jumped in front of him and took a game-winning charge call, something you don’t see every night. Sharpe finished with 12 points.
