Cat-on-Cat crime made its way to the biggest stage in the NBA Playoffs on Monday night, as Jamal Murray hit a fadeaway game-winner over Anthony Davis to propel the Nuggets to a 2-0 series lead.

Murray made just three of his first 16 field goal attempts but made six of his final eight shots in the fourth quarter to finish with 20 points. He has emerged as one of the league’s best players when the lights shine the brightest. Murray is averaging 24.8 points through 55 career postseason games, more than seven points better than his regular season career average.

Denver entered the final quarter trailing 79-69 but outscored the Lakers by 12 in the fourth to steal the victory. The Nuggets have now won 10 consecutive games over the Lakers.

Murray joined Ernie, Chuck, Kenny, and Shaq on Inside the NBA postgame. “I told my teammates when I was struggling, ‘I’m gonna look for y’all. I’m gonna look for y’all,'” Murray said. “And every single one of them told me to ‘keep shooting, keep shooting. Be aggressive. Keep shooting.’ Even when I was throwing up that bull**** floater.”

Anthony Davis got off to a great start for LA, scoring 24 points on 11-12 shooting at the half. He however struggled in the second half, scoring just eight points on 3-7 shooting. The Lakers have now blown double-digit leads in both games of the series.

Maxey scores 35, but Sixers fall behind in series 2-0

Tyrese Maxey was questionable to play Monday night after dealing with an illness, but he suited up and channeled his inner Michael Jordan.

Maxey scored 35 points on 12-22 shooting (5-11 3PT), marking the second most points he’s ever scored in a playoff game. The first-time All-Star became just one of three Sixer players ever with a 35/5/10 playoff game, joining Hall of Famers Allen Iverson and Wilt Chamberlain.

15 of his 35 came in the fourth quarter, including a clutch three-pointer to put his team up four with just over a minute remaining. His “flu game” nearly propelled the Sixers to a Game 2 victory, but Philadelphia blew a five-point lead with 28 seconds remaining to fall behind 2-0 in the series.

“Got to put it behind us now,” Maxey said postgame. “You’ve got 48 hours to think about it and come up with a plan to get two at home.”

Maxey and the Sixers now head back to Philadelphia, where they’ll look to win their first game of the series on Thursday.
