BBNFL Week 1: Wan'Dale Robinson leads the Giants in receptions

The NFL officially kicked off, albeit with modified kickoff rules. The highlight of the weekend was the Buffalo Bills' incredible comeback against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football. There are a lot of people out there who are very upset that they turned it off with four minutes to go, including yours truly. However, the most important outcome is that now Deone Walker is 1-0 in games played against Lamar Jackson. What a great way to start the 2025 BBNFL season.
More than a handful of former Kentucky players repped BBN all over the Red Zone's Octobox, a channel that now features commercials thanks to the worldwide leader. For the most part, it was a relatively quiet statistical output across the board, but Wan'Dale Robinson shone the brightest in the New York Giants' game against the Washington Commanders.
With their new quarterback, Russell Wilson, now under center for the G-Men, Robinson led the team in receptions on the day with six on eight targets, racking up 55 yards along the way. He was also the victim of a belly-to-back suplex from Marshon Lattimore in a move that would have made Kurt Angle proud. Unfortunately for Lattimore, suplexes are legal in the WWE but not in football, so he received a 15-yard penalty.
Other BBNFL Notes
- Former Kentucky cornerbacks, Dru Philips and Carrington Valentine, led the BBNFL in snap counts in Week 1. Meanwhile, rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston will have to wait a little longer for his first NFL snap. He is sitting out due to a knee injury.
- Kentucky defenders who play closer to the line of scrimmage got plenty of pressure on the quarterback. Josh Hines-Allen had seven QB pressures, while veteran Bud Dupree plugged in his Energizer battery and pressured the QB three times and batted a ball away for the Chargers.
- Trevin Wallace is back to lead the Carolina Panthers' defense in his second year in the League. He came away with four tackles on the day, but the Panthers are likely in store for a long season once again.
