Not only did Jamin Davis secure his first career interception on Sunday, but he did so in dramatic fashion.

The Commanders were up one score late in the fourth quarter with the Falcons driving in Washington territory. Davis got matched up in one-on-one coverage against Bijan Robinson, the best rookie running back in the NFL. Thinking he could exploit a perceived mismatch, Atlanta quarterback Desmond Ridder threw it to Robinson’s direction, but Davis stepped in front of the pass and came up with the clutch pick.

The interception sealed the win for the Commanders, which now sit at 3-3 on the year. The former Kentucky linebacker also chipped in five tackles, three assists, and two QB pressures, leading to an impressive PFF grade of 82.8.

Chris Rodriguez Jr. is back to running people over

Jamin Davis wasn’t the only former Kentucky player on the Washington Commanders to show up big on Sunday. After landing on the inactive list for two straight weeks, Chris Rodiguez Jr. was back to his usual ways of running defenders over.

C-Rod rushed four times for 23 yards, 15 of which came after contact. Additionally, he forced two missed tackles, which is an advanced stat that experts almost assuredly designed specifically for Chris Rodriguez. His 23 yards were second most among Washington’s stable of running backs, and his 5.8 yards per carry out-paced Antonio Gibson and Brian Robinson, the two men ahead of him on the depth chart.

Hopefully, this is a sign that C-Rod will be getting many more NFL carries.

Wan’Dale Robinson is becoming a huge part of the Giants’ offense

Chris Rodriguez’s former Kentucky teammate, Wan’Dale Robinson is making his presence felt in the NFL as well. The New York Giants’ offense may be horrible, but Robinson has been one of their few bright spots. In Sunday night’s loss to the Bills, he brought in all eight of his targets for 62 yards with backup quarterback, Tyrod Taylor, slinging it for the G-men.

Those eight catches were good for the best on the team and his most in a single game through his young career. Additionally, his 62 yards easily surpassed the over 26.5 total for those of you who might have been paying attention.

As Chris Collinsworth said during the broadcast, “[Wan’dale Robinson] is having a major impact on this Giants offense.”

Granted, this is a Giants offense that hasn’t scored a touchdown in its last three games, but it is great to see Robinson blossom after finally getting healthy.

Josh Allen records another sack

Last week, former Kentucky edge rusher, Josh Allen, won the Josh Allen Bowl when the Jacksonville Jaguars upset the Buffalo Bills in London. This week, Allen and the Jags were back stateside securing yet another victory, this time over the Indianapolis Colts, who are likely regretting the fact they drafted Anthony Richardson, who might miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury, over Will Levis.

Allen recorded a strip sack against Richardson’s backup, Gardner Minshew, giving him seven on the year, good for second-most in the NFL.

He is picking a good time to excel, as the former No. 4 overall pick is in a contract season. As Jacksonville Jaguars’ social media says, “Oh yeah, 41!”
