It is officially Stay or Go Season, which means mock drafts are back in our lives as we wait for Kentucky’s pro prospects to decide whether or not they’ll go to the NBA.

This morning, Sam Vecenie of The Athletic released his new mock draft, which includes three Kentucky Wildcats, but only one in the first round. Vecenie has Isaiah Jackson going No. 17 to Oklahoma City, BJ Boston No. 34 to Orlando, and Terrence Clarke No. 39 to Chicago. He only includes write-ups on players projected to go in the first round, but in the comments, provided this explanation on putting Boston at No. 34.

“He was better to close the season, last game not withstanding. I still think I’m quite a bit lower on him than where most people have him, and literally just wrote recently on this site that I think he should strongly consider a return to Kentucky.”

John Calipari referenced a two-year path when speaking about Boston at the end of the season, making the case for him to return for a sophomore year, improve his strength/physicality, and then go to the pros ala Immanuel Quickley or PJ Washington. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, of course, but Boston’s stock is something to keep an eye on over the next month.
