Blessings In Disguise

by:Chris Fisher07/16/14
mudiay Kentucky may have dodged a bullet this week when one of the Wildcats' top previous targets--Arlington (Tex.) Prime Prep point guard Emmanuel Mudiay--the consensus top overall prospect in the 2014 class, announced he would be headed overseas instead of playing at SMU. John Calipari, who has enjoyed nothing short of unprecedented recruiting success during his five-year tenure in Lexington, went on instead to sign 5-star lead guard Tyler Ulis to help round out another bumper crop of Wildcats in 2014. But as successful as he's been on the recruiting trail, Calipari hasn't been immune to misses. But like Mudiay, there have been many that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. CatsPause.com takes an extensive look at some of Calipari's recruiting whiffs and how they may have played out in the Wildcats' favor. [FREE] @ChrisFisher247
