This weekend was an important one for Kentucky football, with plenty of big-name recruits making the trip to Lexington to check out spring practice, tour the facilities, and meet with members of the coaching staff. One of the more notable prospects in attendance was Bo Jackson, a class of 2025 four-star running back out of Villa Angela-St. Joseph in Cleveland, OH.

Jackson made it to UK for the second time on Friday to take an unofficial visit. Considered the No. 132 overall player from the ’25 class, per the On3 Consensus, the 6-foot, 205-pound ball carrier went through the usual visitor routine. Jackson was able to speak with several members of the coaching staff, including associate head coach Vince Marrow, safeties coach Frank Buffano, and new running backs coach Jay Boulware.

By Jackson’s account, the visit was an overall success.

Amazing visit yesterday at Kentucky,” Jackson told KSR on Saturday. “Everything about it was impressive and they have a special group of coaches working there, in particular Coach Marrow, Coach Buffano, and Coach Boulware. I was very impressed.

Kentucky was the very first Divison I program to extend an offer to Jackson, which he earned back in May 2022. Jackson took a camp visit to UK the very next month in June. Since then, the two sides have continued to build a steady relationship. The opportunity to play in the SEC plays a significant role in Jackson’s attraction to the ‘Cats.

“SEC. It’s one of the closest SEC schools to me,” Jackson said about what stands out about the ‘Cats. “Kentucky has huge tradition in college sports. Facilities were as good as any campus I visited. I have a really good relationship with Coach Buffano and the fact that they believed in me to be the first program to offer me while I was still a freshman means a lot.”

During his time in Lexington, Jackson went through the usual visitor activities. He got a full view of Friday’s spring practice, toured the facilities and campus, and even got to chat it up with former Kentucky running back Benny Snell, who now plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers, along with a handful of other former ‘Cats currently in the NFL.

Kentucky is certainly near the top of Jackson’s list, but there is plenty of competition for such a talented running back, especially one not far from Ohio State. He’s already been on visits to the Buckeyes and is also hearing plenty from Penn State. A trip to Notre Dame in the near future is on the table, too.

Jackson, who triples as a star on the baseball diamond and a sprinter on the track, is up to 10 Divison I offers now, with Kentucky, Ohio State, and Penn State spearheading his early recruitment. The ‘Cats have established a sound relationship that continues to progress in the right direction.

“Overall I thought UK was great,” Jackson added. “Can’t wait to get back down.”
